- Globalisation ensures that all people, in all countries benefit from wider PROSPERITY & OPPORTUNITIES that can only be brought by CAPITALISM

- WESTERNISATION- UK/USA have EXPANDED opportunities due to economic globalisation & democracy
- CONTRAST: N.KOREA
- UNDEMOCRATIC as it has CLOSE-MINDED ECONOMY & SINGLE PARTY
- E.g. The ARAB SPRING 2011-spread of democracy-cultural globalisation-media
- This is where people demand greater opportunities for political participation, due to having wider economic & social opportunities
- 'Democratic peace thesis'- where 'ZONES OF PEACE' have emerged, in which military conflict has become UNTHINKABLE
