    • Definition
      • A predisposition to act in a particular way towards something or someone in a person's environment
      • Attitudes are learnt
      • Attitudes are a mix of emotions, beliefs and behaviour
      • If an attitude is based on false information, it becomes prejudice

    • Forming an attitude
      • Knowing how attitudes are formed can help us to decrease prejudice

        • Operant conditioning
        • Enjoyment
        • Relaxation

        • Friends and significant others

        • Rewards will strengthen attitudes / punishment will weaken attitudes.
      • Enjoyment
        • Enjoyment of the activity will strengthen the attitude
      • Relaxation
        • A form f relaxation and escape from stress will strengthen the attitude
