- 160 busses stop there per day making it increadibly accessable to people who dont or cant drive
- It has just over 160 shopping retailers including their two ancor stores, Jhon Lewis and M&S
- Has the largest food complex in Europe with over 1600 seats
- A 20 screen cinema and an 18 lane bowling complex
- Has 10,00 free car parking spaces
- Is within a 45 minute drive of 5.3 million people with an estimated retail value of £13 Bn
- Is weather proof and Climate controlled making it an ideal trip all year round unlike shops in the open CBD
- Offers a wide range of servies. Has a post office, travel agents and pharmasist
- Was built in 1998 and took 27 months
- Cribbs Causeway
- Opened in 1998 and was built on a Green Feild site
- Located close to the M5 and the M4
- Over 4.5 million people live within an hours drive of the mall
- Cost £10 million to build
- 7,00 free car parking spaces. Needed as over 87% of people travel there by car
- Busses have been introduced bringing people from a wide area to one of 18 bus bays
- Is situated near urban developments where most of its employees
- 2,500 trees planted along with 200,000 shrubs to increase the positive astetic of the store

- Causes
- In 1970 there were 12 million cars on the road by 1990 this number had almost doubled to 22 million
- Land on out of town cites was much cheaper than that of CD sites
- Deliveries t oout of town stores was easier as there was little conjestion unlike CBDs
- The development of motorways during the 60s and 70s made out of town areas accessable
- Government tax alowances for so called "enterpirse zones" encouraged investment in such large scale schemes
- Some town and ciy centres were unable to cope with such high quantity demand for shopping
- The new indoor malls were covered and weather proof unlike CBD shops making them more pleasent
