      • Hierachy- a ranking system that gives structure to the church.
      • Pope- The head of the Catholic church, the successor of Peter.
      • Bishop- high- ranking clergymen who have the power to confirm and ordain.
      • Kingdom of God- also called trhe reign of God, where all people live as God intends.
      • Prayer- the raising of the heart and mind to God. Thew way that people are able to enter into and develop a personal, loving realtionship with God.

    • Justice in the life of a Catholic
        • When he became Archbishop pf Buenos Aires he increased the number of priests working in towns and among the poor.
        • He does not allow money to be wasted on himself.
        • He has criticised economic policies that lead to inequality.
          • He speaks out against all forms of abuse and exploitation.
        • He triues to make all people realise that abuse in any form damages all people's lives and leads to injustice.
        • He spoke against what the government was doing.
        • Preached about the poor and how they shouldn't be discriminated.
        • Used his Christianity to raise awareness aboput injustice and inequality.

      • Church belives that Catholics should not let their fellow human beings suffer.
        • Especially when their suffering is due to the effects of economic exploitation and greed on the part of others.
      • Church is made up of human beings and that God loves all people.
        • This love needs to be shown in the way the Church supports the weakest or poorest members of society.
      • "nothing genuinely human fails to raise an echo in their hearts"- Gaudium et Spes 1
