  • Correlations
    • A correlation is an association or relationship that is found between two variables.
    • The variables are called co-variables.
    • Positive: both co-variables increase/decrease together.
    • Negative: one co-variable increases + the other decreases.
    • Correlation cannot establish causation as there is not a manipulated IV.
      • Allows the study of variables that cannot be examined directly due to ethical or practical reasons 
      • It is impossible to know if one variable has caused the other. There may be other variables that are creating the relationship
