  • diffusion, osmosis, and active transport
    • diffusion is when particals randomly move from an area of high concentration to an area of low concentation
    • osmosis is the movement of water molecules from an area of high water to low water concentration across a partially permeable membrane.
    • active transport is when the substances needed by a cell have to be moved against a concentration gradient, across a permeable membrane.
