- Balanced and Unbalanced
- If the arrows on a force diagram are equal, the force is balanced.
- If the forces are balanced, the object is either stationary or continuing to move at a steady speed.
- Forces
- Measuring forces
- We measure the weight of a force in newtons (N)
- To calculate the moment of a force you times the force by the distance from the pivot.
- Types of forces
- There are different types of forces however all of them are either push or pull.
- Centre of mass
- The only place where an object can be balanced on a point
- Measuring forces
- If the arrows on a force diagram are different sizes/lengths, the force is unbalanced.
- If forces are unbalanced, the object is either, stationary and starting to move or changing speed.
- If the arrows on a force diagram are equal, the force is balanced.
