- There is NO food that contains all the nutrients the body needs.
- Reasons for:
- Unused energy is stored as fat, leading to obesity.
- Suitable energy can be available for activity.
- Needed for energy, growth and hydration.
- Balanced Diet Contains:
- Fat- is also an energy source, that provides more energy then carbs but at a low intensity.

- Carbohydrates- are the main and preferred energy source for all types of intensities.

- Protein- is for growth and repair of tissue muscle.

- Vitamins and Minerals- are for maintaining the efficient working of the body systems and general health.

- Hydration prevents dehydration.
- Results in:
- Blood thickening
- Increases heart rate
- Increases body temp.
- Slower reactions
- Muscle fatigue
