- Simple Mail Transfer Protocol
- Used to send emails
- Only used on email clients
- Emails stored even after you delete them
- Need internet connection
- TCP
- Transmission Control Protocol
- Used whenever you send data to another computer via internet
- Used by transport layer in protocol layering
- Defines how data is SENT / TRANSMITTED / RECEIVED over internet
- Defines 4 layers for data transmission
- POP3
- Post Office Protocol
- Receives emails
- Only used on email clients
- Emails permanently deleted when you delete them
- Don't need internet connection to view emails
