- Calculating volume for density: Measure out two cylinders and drop the object in one and the difference is the volume.

- Pressure= Force (Newtons) divided by Area ( in square meters

- Three Ways to increase pressure in Gas:
- Heat It- There particles have more energy so it hits the wall with a bigger force.
- Squash it: The particles are being squashed togteher
- Adding more Gas
- Due to the particles hitting the wall it exerts a force over and area which is pressure,
- Three Ways to increase pressure in Gas:

- Equation: Pressure 1 x Volume 1 = pressure 2 x Volume 2

- Pressure 1 / Temp 1 = Pressure 1/ temp 1
- Always convert temperature to Kelvin adding 273
- Summarize: With a fixed mass of gas at a constant volume, pressure is proportional to temperature (in Kelvins).
- States of Matter
- Solids: Particles are closely packed, Regular structure and Vibrate about fixed positions
- Liquids: Particles are closely packed, Irregular structure and Random motion within structure.
- Gases:No fixed position, Move at rapid random motion and are very spread out
