      • Events -
        • 8th nov - Hitler stormed Bavarian gov at gun point with 600 SA
          • Rohm took over local police and army headquarters
        • 9th nov - Hitler gathered 1000 SA and 2000 volunteers
          • he marched Munich town to declare himself presidant
          • met by state police, there was chaos
          • many arrested, hitler fled but later found and imprisoned
      • Consequences -
        • NSDAP banned
        • hitler used his trial to publicise views
        • he wrote Mein Kamf in prison
        • hitler was released after 9 months (early) and ban was lifted in 1925
    • Reorganisation of the party 1920s -
      • hitler appointed 2 administrators to run Nazi HQs
      • he divided the party into regions
      • each region had a leader which ran the section
      • this was successful because to fund it hitler improved the party finances
    • Impact of the depression -
      • Economic problems ---> unemployed ---> dissatisfaction with weimar ---> increased popularity for nazis
    • Methods to win support -
      • told businesses he could solve economic crisis
      • told working class he would supply work and food
      • told women he would protect their families
      • good public speaker
      • strong leader
    • SA - inflicting fear and terror = causing people to support Hitler out of fear
    • 1932-33
      • elections vote hindenburg as presidant
        • Chancellor bruning was sacked as he banned the SA and **
          • Von papen ---> Von schleicher as chancellor (was sure nazi support would fade, made a plan to get rid of hitler and Papen, but got leaked)
            • Hitler becomes chancellor
