Army or SA

Advantages

  • They had helped Hitler from the start and supported the Nazi party
  • They were useful to defeat opposition and helped to promote the nazi party. Provided protection for Hitler
  • Germany army: disciplined fighters
  • The leader of the army also had power of the navy and airforces

Disadvantages

  • Ruthless and gave Nazi party a bad name
  • were not trained fighters
  • Rhom was ambitious and a threat to Hitler
  • German Army: the leader could attempt to organise a pustch against him
  • There was tension between hitler and the army because of the SA
  • Not as large in support as the SA

Evaluation

Although the SA were with Hitler from the start, Ernst Rhom was powerful and a clear threat to Hitler. The SA were also not disciplined and trained fighters despite their power over Hitler's opposition. Hitler needed the army to help control Germany and they were better fighters who gave Germany a strong name.
