Emergence of Psychology as a Science

Advantages

Scientific as mirrors natural science aims
Controlled experiments in labs were unbiased; high internal validity

Disadvantages

Lack of objective methods in some e.g Humanistic Approach
Psychodynamic Approach uses case studies with small samples; increase in demand characteristics

Evaluation

Psychology has established itself as a scientific discipline. However, the scientific approach to study internal though isn't always desirable or possible and removes the fact that humans have free will.
