EvaluationFREDERICK V. HERZBERG (born 1923) - 'two-factor' theory = 'hygiene' factors - caused people to be dissatisfied + motivating factors which he called satisfiers. Fulfilling these hygiene factors wouldn't cause motivation but would simply prevent demotivation: company policies, supervision, relationships, work conditions, remuneration, salary + security. He noted that motivators were more related to the job itself, most important motivators were: achievement, recognition, the work itself, responsibility, advancement + growth. |
