Should we have a codified constitution?

Advantages

  • Every citizens knows their rights
  • Rights set out more clearly
  • More checks and balances- Blair Iraq
  • Make our laws more sovereign

Disadvantages

  • Could jeopardise Parliamentary sovereignty
  • Entrenchment
  • Creates the separation of power- Lords role changes- gridlock.
  • E.U law clashes.
