Spanish: It hurts....

Causes

  • To say something hurts, you must first say use the verb 'doler' meaning to hurt. 'doler' behaves in the same way as 'gustar':
  • Me gusta - Me duele
  • Te gusta - Te duele
  • Le gusta - Le duele
  • If you ask someone what hurts then there's a difference between formal and informal:
  • Que te duele? INFORMAL
  • Que le duele? FORMAL

Effects

  • To the verb 'doler' you must add the body part that hurts. e.g cabeza or pierna.
  • If you have an ache you would say:
  • 'Tengo dolor de cabeza.'

Overall summary

So to summarise: Que te/le duele?
Me duele la nariz y tengo dolor de cabeza.
