EvaluationStresemann managed to almost save Germany's economy by cutting reperation payments (The Dawes plan 1924 and The Young Plan 1929) and this increased public spending and the overall effect of the German economy. He also improved the relationships that Germany had with other countries (The Lorcano Pact 1925 and the Kellogg Briand pact 1928) and then Germany was a well established country with the rest of the international community. Previously, Germany had a terrible reputation with the rest of the world and therefore, were not trusted but after 1929 they had a much better reputation and relationships with the rest of the world were improved. However, he did increase opposition from Extremist parties and he did make the German Economy dependent on American loans which would be impacted upon after the Wall Street Crash of 1929. |
