Þ       Russia and The USA (Stalin and Harry Truman) were the two superpowers in the world during the 1940’s and they could not agree on several things including:

o   Politics America was capitalist; Russia was communist

o   Lifestyle America had freedom and a two-party democracy; Russia had a secret-police and a one-party state.

o   Aims for Germany America wanted Germany as a trading partner and therefore for it to recover; Russia wanted to weaken Germany and create a “safe zone” around Russia in precaution of further attack.
