The Second Spirit

The second spirit is the Ghost of Christmas Present who takes Scrooge to the Cratchit family where he sees the humility with which the family tolerates its poverty to be a happy and loving family. The sight of Tiny Tim, who is sick and weak, saddens Scrooge.

The ghost appears to Scrooge as a 'jolly giant' with dark brown curls. He wears a fur-lined green robe and on his head a holly wreath set with shining icicles. 

Tiny Tim, Cratchit's disabled son is presented sentimentally as angelic and uncomplaining, capable of bringing out the best in people. he embodies the effects of Scrooge's transformation.

His Nephew and his Friends

Next, the spirit shows Scrooge his nephew and his friends as they celebrate and deliberately, joke about how Scrooge is a 'ridiculous fellow' and showing hatred towards Scrooge, which consequently makes Scrooge even more upset than previously before.

'Ignorance and Want'

Lastly, the ghost shows Scrooge two poor children at the bottom of his cloak, these are called ignorance and want, this might identify the identity of Scrooge. The ghost disappears and a dark, hooded phantom travels towards Scrooge.

Summary

The ghost of Christmas present takes Scrooge to dinner at Bob Cratchit's house, where Scrooge is moved by the sight of Tiny Tim. before he returns Scrooge to his home, he is shown two children, ignorance and want. he warns him they belong to mankind.
