diffusion : the net movement in a regiom from high concentration to a region of low concentration
Osmosis : The movement of water from a high concentration of water to a low concentration of water through a semi-permeable membrane (e.g. the movement of distilled water into a core of potato)
Active transport: The movement of particles against the concentration gradient using energy (e.g. the 'pump' proteins in a cell)
