Interaction with the environment helps to develop MENTAL CATEGORIES and PATTERNS OF THOUGHT.
A child's understanding of OBJECT PERMANENCE and use of SERIALISATION supports this theory.
THEORY DOESN'T ACCOUNT FOR:
