• By having the power to amend statutes, this has further increased their role as a 'law maker'.
• Judges have to inform Parliament if any legislation breaches the HRA.
• Their area of control/governance has chnaged - They now have to consider moral and political issues they no longer had to before.
• Judicial Review is being increasingly used.

Why the HRA is important for Judges?:

• HRA is more actove in the UK now.
• It provides Judges with a defined platform for the judiciary to act on.
• Increased judicial activism has led to the willingness to engae with the public and the media to explain its decisions.
