Prejudice is to pre-judge someone. It can be an attitude or an opinion formed about an individual or a group of people, without knowing all the facts. It is often negative and can influence the way people behave towards others.

Persecution
Persecution is when you act on your prejudice. It is the mistreating of a person or group of people with ill-treatment, especially because of race, religion, gender or beliefs.

Discrimination
Discrimination is when you treat an individual or a group of people differently from others. An example may be the way the Jew's were treated at the time of the Holocaust.

Genocide
Genocide is the mass killing or wipeout of a race. This can be outright killing or denying food and water.

Intolerance
Not accepting or respecting opinions of others, behaviour of others or people.

The "Ism's"
Racism: prejudice and discrimination based on the idea that one race is superiour to another. (Eg: The civil rights movement in America when the black people were seen as inferiour to white)
Sexism: Discrimination based on gender and/or gender roles. (Eg: A woman who may be refused a membership to a "all-men" golf club just because of her gender.)
Ageism: Discrimination based on a person's age. (Eg: A man forced to retire when he is 60 due to the belief that they are too old to work when 60)
Disability: Discrimination based on a person disability. (Eg: A woman who is refused a job/series of jobs due to her disability.)

Scapegoat
An individual or a group of people who are/were wrongly blamed for a event or situation which has nothing to do with them.

Stereotype
A belief about a individual or group without taking in account of individual difference. It's when you lump together a group based on a certain aspect.
