- Changed the amount of similarity of the control set of material and the set the ppts learn after.
- ppts had to remember the control set 100% first
Sets of words: synonyms, atonyms, unrelated adjectives, numbers, nonsense syllables, no change
Findings-
when ppts recalled the original set, the better performance depended on the nature of the second set. Worst performance- synonyms
Conclusion-
This shows that interfernce is stronger when the memories are similar
