macbeth act 1 scene 5

 Lady Macbeth reads a letter she has received from Macbeth. The letter reads Macbeth’s promotion to the thaneship of Cawdor and details his meeting with the witches. Lady Macbeth  knows Macbeth is ambitious She wants  to convince macbeth to do whatever is required to seize the crown. A messenger tells Lady Macbeth that the king rides toward the castle, and that Macbeth is on his way as well. she intends on changing her feminity to masculinity.

lady macbeths soliloquy conveys the most signifiance in the scene. the speech sets the mood for the horrible event to come , which is the murder of Duncan. it prepares the audience for what us about to come , and the character of lady macbeth is illustrated aswell as the character of macbeth. for example, it is made clear that macbeth wouldnt come up with killing Duncan
