complex adding fractions is multiplying the denominators on a question so they are the same (but what ever you multiply to get the denominator you multiply the nominator)
for example: 2/2 + 5/1
the denominators are 2 and 1
so the the first multiple that is in the 1 and 2 times tables is 2
so the first fraction stays the same
but the second fraction is times by 2
so the new fraction is
2/2 +10/2
now all you do is add 2 and 10 together
which is a top heavy fraction at 12/2 now you can simlife this and it will be
6/1
