Propp's Archetypes -> well known, recognisable characters such as: Hero, Villain, Sage, Dispatcher, False Hero, Princess and helper

Stereotypes -> to put a label something/someone, it may not be true

Generic Type -> character of basic design

Saussure -> syntactic, representational, symbolic

Fiske -> connotations and denotations are too easy to confuse

Iconography -> objects that symbolise a certain thing/place

Representation Theory

Constructed Representation -> representation that is constructed to be made to look like what it is in reality

Reflective Representation -> Representation that you can relate to (schools, hospitals etc...)

Fair/unfair Representation -> Fair representation is a representation of someone that is seen to be fair towards them. Unfair representations is a representation of someone that is seen to be unfair towards them.
