Triple Alliance

The 1st Feature of the Alliance:

• Germany felt threatened by France whom she had defeated in war in 1871. France wanted revenge. Germany wanted Alliances for protection.

2nd Feature of the Alliance:

• By 1882 Germany had formed aliiances with Italy and Austria Hungary. = The Triple Alliance. They agreed to support eachother if any of them were attacked.

3rd Feature of the Alliance:

• This Alliance helped to cause a World War.

In 1914 the future king of Austria-Hungary was assassinated. 

• The countries had to honour their alliance agreements and declared war on Austria Hungary's enemies.
