Oceans store 1.300,000 cubic kilometeres of water, Lakes store 200 cubic kilometeres of water, Vegetation store 2 cubic kilometeres, Glacier and ice caps store 29,000 cubic kilometeres of water, ground water (including aquifers) stores 8,400 cubic kilometeres, the atmospehere stores 13 cubic kilometeres of water.

Evapouration from the land consists of 62 cubic kilometeres that falls or rises each year, evapouration from the oceans consists of 361 cubic kilometeres that falls or rises each year, the precipitation consists of 423 cubic kilometeres that falls or rises each year.

Precipitation - Moisture falls from the atmopshere as rain, hail, sleet or snow.

Interception - Plants catch water on their leaves preventing the water touching the ground.

Surface water storage - Water stored in lakes, ponds and resiviours.

Surface run off - water flowing over the surface.

Infiltaration - Movement of water into the soil from the surface.

Through flow - Water flowing through the soil to a river.

Transpiration - Water evapourates from the pours of the plants.

Since the 1900's the amount of water has drastically changed in some areas.

Agriculture sectore has risen from 500 kilometeres cubed (per year) to 2800 kilometeres cubed.

In the 1940's there was a sudden water rise. This may have been due the the world war 2 happening.

The main distribution of no water scarcity are mainly the developed countries such as: Russia, America, Brazi, and Europe.

The countries with water scarcity are developing countries such as Africa, Mexico and other poorer countries. They will not be able to collect water due to lack of facilities.

2 billion people live in areas of water stress such as the Sahel.  Rain falls for one one or two months a year usually between 250mm and 450mm.

Water demand in the Sahel is at 120% demand or more. This is 20% more than available.
