Prokaryotic & Eukaryotic Cells
- Prokaryotic organisms are prokaryotic cells (i.e they're single celled organisms) and eukaryotic organisms are made up of eukaryotic cells.
- Eukaryotic cells are complex and include all animal and plant cells
- Prokaryotic cells are smaller and simpler e.g. bacteria
- Both types of cells contain organelles - parts of cells with each one having a specific function
Plant & Animal cells - Eukaryotic
- Plant cells have the same organelles as animal cells but also some additions:
- Cell wall with plasmodesmata (holes for exchanging substances with adjacent cells)
- Vacuole - compartment containing cell sap
- Chloroplasts
