Attachment Unit
Attachment: A bond between two people.
Critical period: A biologically determined period of time during which infants are especially ready to form an attachment. Bowlby believed that if the attachment is not formed during that time, it is unlikely to be formed at all.
Deprivation: A situation in which a child experiences the loss or breaking of an already formed attachment relationship.
Insecure ambivalent: The type of attachment where the child is less explorative, shows fear and avoids strangers, shows signs of intense distress when the caregiver leaves the room and when the caregiver returns, the child will resist comfort.
