Nucleotides are monomers of nucleic acids. nucleotides are made of three subunits: a phosphate group, a nitrogenous base and a 5-caron sugar all joined by a covalent bond. All nucleotides have the same phosphate group, all have a 5-carbon sugar and one of five different organic bases. the sugar can either be ribose or deoxyribose.
