What is it?

• When the hearts blood supply is blocked or interrupted by fatty deposits

Causes

• The walls of the arteries being blocked by fatty deposits called Atherosclerosis
• Smoking
• High cholesterol
• High blood pressure
• Diabetes 

Symptoms

• Angina (chest pains)
• Heart attacks
• Sweating
• Fainting
• Heart palpitations
• Fatigue
• High blood pressure
• Breathless

Physical impacts

• Same as the symptoms
• May find it difficult to manage changes in their diet
• Find it hard to motivate themselves to maintain a new exercise programme

Intellectual impacts

• No impact, however the patient will have an increased knowledge of the symptoms and what too look out for in other people
• The patient may not be able to focus on work due to angina
