CHLAMYDIA= one of the most common STI in the UK. It is an infection with Chlamydia.
an INFECTION, not a disease.
CAUSES
- unprotected sex
- passing through the mother
SYMPTOMS
- Male
- pain when urinating
- burning or itching in the urethra
- pain and swelling in testes.
- Females
- pain when urinating
- unusual vaginal discharge
- pain in tummy or pelvis
P.I.E.S.F
PHYSICAL
- Pain in tummy (females), pelvis (females) or testes (males).
- higher risk of ectopic pregnancy
- at risk of infertility if left untreated for too long
- may lead to Pelvic inflammatory Disease (PIV)
INTELLECTUAL
- not really affected
- unable to concentrate at work
EMOTIONAL
- embarrassed
- worried about impact on fertility
- stressed from recovery and missing times out of education or work
- upset by the situation
SOCIAL
- may have become withdrawn from friends and partner because…
