CHLAMYDIA

CHLAMYDIA= one of the most common STI in the UK. It is an infection with Chlamydia.

CAUSES

• unprotected sex
• passing through the mother

SYMPTOMS

• Male
• pain when urinating 
• burning or itching in the urethra
• pain and swelling in testes.
• Females
• pain when urinating 
• unusual vaginal discharge 
• pain in tummy or pelvis

P.I.E.S.F

PHYSICAL

• Pain in tummy (females), pelvis (females) or testes (males).
• higher risk of ectopic pregnancy
• at risk of infertility if left untreated for too long
• may lead to Pelvic inflammatory Disease (PIV)

INTELLECTUAL 

• not really affected
• unable to concentrate at work

EMOTIONAL

• embarrassed
• worried about impact on fertility
• stressed from recovery and missing times out of education or work
• upset by the situation

SOCIAL

• may have become withdrawn from friends and partner because…
