1) Multi-Store Model of Memory: There are 3 unitary memory stores through which information passes between. 

SENSORY MEMORY - SHORT TERM MEMORY (STM) - LONG TERM MEMORY (LTM)

• Information is detected through the sensory organs and enters sensory memory 
• If attention is given to the information, it can pass through to the STM. If the memory is then given meaning (elaborative rehearsal), it can pass through to the LTM.
