Conjunctivitis
1.Who is it for? How old is the patient? (adult/child)
2. What are the symptoms? Any discharge, pain, itching or visual disturbances?
- Usually clear, watery ophthalmic discharge but can be mucopurulent if bacterial conjunctivitis is present.
- Redness of the eye.
- Ophthalmic itching.
- Photophobia associated with more sinister pathology.
- Pain is usually gritty and there feels like there is a foreign body present. Does not cause severe pain.
- Any loss of vision or haloes around objects should be referred.
