• Executive orders mean a President can bypass congress, Obama in 2013 using executive orders to get background checks on gun purchases 
• However executive orders can be easily overturned, Trumps Travel Ban getting overturned in 2016 by the Supreme Court 
• Presidents can also use signing statements to express their opposition to bills, Obama using a signing staements to express opposition to suing the Saudi Gov 
• However signing statements dont actually affect the bills at all, law was still passed under Obama 
• Can also use recess appointments to appoiont people without congressional approval, in 2012 Obama made threee appoitments to…
