DNA Structure
DNA stands for deoxynucleic acid. DNA is the molecule that stores genetic information. It is present in the chromosomes, inside the nuclei of cells.
DNA is made up of many repeated units called nucleotides. A nucleotide is made up of:
- A phosphate group
- 5 carbon sugar
- Organic base (Nitrogen)
There are four different bases in DNA:
- Adenine (At)
- Thymine (The)
- Guanine (Golf)
