see education as an agency of socialisation, which maintains social stability through a value consensus.
Durkheim and Parsons:
Passing on culture - this can be done through the hidden curriculum and the national curriculum as it creates a value consensus
Providing a bridge between standards - schools are a 'society in miniature' which is a small scale version of society that prepares young people for the wider society…
