Electrophilic Addition is a reaction associated with organic chemistry. In the reaction, a π bond is broken and two σ bonds are formed. The substrate must have either a double bond or a triple bond
The main force behind this reaction is the formation of an electrophile (X⁺). The electrophile forms a covalent bond with an electron rich, saturated C=C bond.
