Coastal erosion:
The 4 main types of erosion:
- Abrasion - The breaking waves scoops up stones and hurls them at the cliffs
- Hydraulic action - The pressure exerted by breaking waves traps and compresses in cracks
- Solution - Some rocks have a chemical composition which salt and water can dissolve
- Attrition - The waves swirl rock fragments about and as they collide they wear down the cliffs
