Factors effecting temperature

  • latitude
  • distance from sea
  • prevailing winds
  • relief features

Prevailing wind comes from the direction at which the wind usally comes from.

Latitude- places near the equator are warmer due to the curvature of the earth and the angle of the sun.

On the equator the sun is overhead and there is a smaller surface area to heat up.

On the poles there is a larger surface area to heat up; therefore it's cooler.

Distance from the sea.

summer- inland is warmer than the coast

winter- coast is warmer than the land
