Bower found that 6 day old infants were able to distinguish between a large disk far away and a smaller disk close by. This develops Gibson and Walk's research as Bower conducted their research on much younger children. This was a flaw in Gibson and Walk's research as their participants could have learned depth perception by the age they were tested. But with Bower's research, this supports the idea that depth perception is indeed innate.
Sorce et al produced a partial replication of the original study, and it was found that depth perception itself was not the only reason for the child deciding wehther or not to move off the centre boad and onto the deep side.
