Self-referral-
This is when someone chooses to use a service for themselves and is the main way people access services.
Professional referral-
This is when a care provider puts a person in touch with another service provider that offers a more specialised service.
Third- party referral-
This is when someone puts a person who needs service in contact with that service because they cannot do so themselves.
