CONTROL OF BLOOD GLUCOSE CONCENTRATION
Normal blood glucose levels: 100mg/ 100cm3 or 4mM/L
Highest Values: after a meal rich in carbohydrates
Lowest Values: after exercise
Glycogen : glucose storage in the body
: stored in the liver
Hypoglycaemia : Low sugar levels in the blood when Cgluc < 2mM/L
: If not treated/reversed you could faint & when prolonged the brain will not have the energy to function leading to coma
Hyperglycaemia: Abnormally high concentration of glucose in the blood
: High solute concentration decreases the water potential of the blood
