When we try to remember something, our brain goes through a process in which we store and retrieve information. The core theory suggestes the mind follows this system:

Input--------Encoding-------Storage-------Retrival-------Output

Input; To take in a piece of information

Encoding: To put the information in a format which the brain can remember

Storage: To store the information

Retrivial: To at a later stage in time be asked the information and find it from memory
