Stages of Language Acquisition:
0-8 weeks: Basic biological noises
8-20 weeks: Cooing and laughing
20-30 weeks: Vocal play
25-50 weeks: Babbling (smaller set of sounds)
12-18 months: One word utterances (approx 60% nouns) 2 words meant as 1 e.g. 'All gone'
18 months-2 years: Two word utterances (telegraphic stage), start of grammar. Some prepositions and personal pronouns used.
2-3 years: Start questions (using intonation), 3 words or more, longer more varied utterances, errors e.g. sheeps,…
