The Equality Act - 2010

- It makes sure that all people are treated equally within a health and social care setting

- It informs on how to make equality happen such as through buying resources and making adjustments to suit the needs of people.

- It makes sure that men and women are receiving the same wages and that elderly people are treated with fairness.

- As well as service users, it also makes sure that service providers and carers are treated fairly also.

- It also protects disabled people from unfair treatment.

- It causes public bodies to think about how to stop people doing less well on a basis of their ethnicity or gender.

- Pay secrecy clauses have been made illegal which means that people are no longer prohibited from being able to tell others how much they make.
