ACT 3 SCENE SUMMARIES
ACT III SCENE I
Banquos reflects of the witches prophecy and believes that Macbeth obtained the crown because of the witches
Macbeth and Lady Macbeth arrive
Macbeth pretends that he needs Banquo’s advice on how to deal with Malcolm and Donalbain who are spreading rumours
This leads to Macbeth discovering details of Banquo’s planned journey with his son
Macbeth reveals that he fears Banquo and that he thought of his son becoming king is unacceptable
Macbeth brings in two murders and tells them why he wants Banquo and his son killed
They agree to murder them
ACT III SCENE II
Lady Macbeth wants to speak to her husband before the feats, she is on edge
Macbeth appears and she is angry because he stayed alone he also continued dwelling on their actions even though they agreed not to
Macbeth reveals his fear of Banquo and Fleance to Lady Macbeth
He tells her that he intends to commit another crime
He will not tell her what this crime is but asks for her to praise him once it is done
ACT III SCENE III
The two murderer that Macbeth brought in are joined by another murderer
They wait for Banquo and Fleance so that hey can spring out on them
They manage to kill Banquo but Fleance escapes
The murderers resolve to inform Macbeth of the situation
ACT III SCENE IV
Macbeth welcomes guests to the banquet
The first murderer appears and Macbeth steps aside to speak to him.
The murderer tells Macbeth that Banquo is dead but Fleance…
