Marx saw law as an expression of class dominantion as not all citizens are recognised in its interests. Using his theory it is suggested that offending is a form of resistance against capitalism.
BONGER - He argued that capitalism was emphasising the idea of pleasure and egoism which increased criminal behaviour. He also suggests that an act is punished only if it benefits the dominant class.
VOLD - Criminal activity is usually participated in to benefit a particular group or individual. It occurs due to social and political inequalities. Can arise from group conflict.
